In the summer of 2016, Dinolion traveled to a farm outside San Marcus, TX, to film an intimate music video with The Deer. We stayed in a yurt for three days and filmed in various locations throughout the farm.
Up Into Roses is based on true events from the life of front woman Grace Park. We were inspired by the idea of a visual palindrome to represent a woman trapped in the cycles of her grief, on a farm haunted by memories of her lost love.
The stop motion animations were created using Grace Park’s own stained glass and handcut paper art.
